Tour: Shaping the Dictionary
Results display
Below is the results list which you saw before when looking up mad as a. Note that it includes a row of tabs labelled Entry Name, Entry Date, and Quotation Date. The Entry Name tab is red, indicating that the current ordering of results is alphabetically by entry. Clicking the Entry Date tab lets you change the ordering from the standard alphabetical order, ![]() [shrink] to a chronological order based on the date of the earliest quotation for each entry. ![]() [shrink] The Quotation Date tab is inactive, since the search was not in a quotation area. Where there are a lot of results to display, you may also control the number of results per page, which is set to ten as a default. If you have a fast net connection, you might benefit from changing this to a larger number, up to a limit of 100. Just pick a number from the list at the top right-hand corner, and click Show to change the number you see per page.
