Revision of the entries in the March 2006 OED Online update has revealed an earlier origin than previously known for many words, including:

• philanthropical (adjective, antedated from 1818 to 1763)
• philharmonic (adjective, 1813 to 1740)
• Philistee (noun, 1382 to OE)
• philology (noun, 1614 to 1522)
• piddock (noun, 1851 to 1730)
• pig's whisper (noun, 1821 to 1780)
• piliferous (adjective, a1846 to 1698)
• pikey (noun, 1847 to 1838)
• pilcorn (noun, 1578 to 1283)
