Revision of the entries in the December 2002 OED Online update has revealed an earlier origin than previously known for many words, including:

• monolingual (antedated to 1879 from 1953)
• monologue (c1550 from 1668)
• monotonously (c1786 from 1828)
• monsignor (1579 from 1641)
• monthly (adverb) (1463 from 1533)
• moonwalk (1952 from 1966)
• morass (1489 from 1655)
• mortarboard (1761 from 1854)
• motorized (1901 from 1922)
